The combined reading is our own explanatory framework.

Letter mapping: A, J, S = 1; B, K, T = 2; C, L, U = 3; D, M, V = 4; E, N, W = 5; F, O, X = 6; G, P, Y = 7; H, Q, Z = 8; I, R = 9.

Expression Number: add the values of every A–Z letter in the entered name.

Soul Urge Number: add the values of vowels A, E, I, O, U. Y is treated as a consonant.

Personality Number: add the values of all consonants; Y is included as a consonant.

Reduction rule: add the digits of each total repeatedly until it is 1–9, except when a total reduces to 11, 22, or 33; these are retained as master numbers in this calculator.

Worked example: Alex Morgan

Using the letter mapping above, “ALEX MORGAN” becomes A(1) + L(3) + E(5) + X(6) + M(4) + O(6) + R(9) + G(7) + A(1) + N(5). The Expression total is 47, which reduces to 4 + 7 = 11. Since this calculator preserves 11, the Expression Number is 11.

For the Soul Urge Number, the vowels A, E, O, A total 1 + 5 + 6 + 1 = 13, which reduces to 1 + 3 = 4. The consonants total 34, which reduces to 3 + 4 = 7, so the Personality Number is 7.
